• Overview
  The high traditional design of the Old World Dining Room Collection by A.R.T. Furniture is inspired primarily by classic European styles of antiquity. Clearly influenced by the later Renaissance period, which featured enrichment of ornament and outline, Old World reflects the elaborate details of the French and English translation of this significant architectural movement. Roman design standards like columns and pilasters were applied to furniture as well as a full complement of bases, cornices and pediments. Cathedral cherry and exotic avodire veneers are complemented by fine herringbone inlay, with burnished edges and hand rubbed fronts giving a satiny glow to the rich pomegranate finish of Old World Collection. With its regal bearing and consummate elegance incorporating all the signature carved embellishments of the collection the china is a statement of beauty and functionality with a vertical space at 91 tall and the reasonable width of 69 overall. The curves of the serpentine front of the hutch in conjunction with the arched and scrolled bonnet make this piece a unique example of the highest level of craftsmanship. The top features four carved etched glass doors faced with dramatic curved designs and glass shelves behind illuminated by three interior halogen lights. The fully housed bonnet construction of the hutch provides a totally finished look when seen from above. Classic details of sculptural acanthus leaf carvings, a rhythmic lamb's tongue motif and baroque styled custom hardware add to the architectural splendor of this beautifully crafted collection.
