FurnitureCart’s Marketing and Category Management team is back from sunny and fun Las Vegas! Monday through Friday, our team was at the Las Vegas Furniture Market in Nevada, scoping out furniture and casegoods from all around the world. We had a lot of meetings with existing suppliers to talk about how business is going, what new products they’re bringing out, what they see in the market, the trends. We also met with new people we’ve wanted to get on board with, that have unique products.

We consider ourselves very lucky to not only be buyers for this annual show but also to work with some really incredible companies such as AICO Furniture, Pulaski Furniture, Samuel Lawrence Furniture, Coaster and Ashley Furniture.

Latest Las Vegas Furniture Market News:

Ashley Furniture is continuing to reach out to younger consumers and contemporary furniture buyers with its Bardini Collection. Bardini is the trademarked name for the contemporary case goods and upholstery line Ashley introduced last year under the name New Millennium. The company also is expanding the product line here with 12 new fabric and leather upholstery groups and five new dining rooms. The Bardini pieces cross a spectrum of price points, with dresser, mirror, bed combinations selling from $599 to $1,999.

Standard Furniture is introducing Design Your Dine, a program that offers a wide range of SKUs in the dining category. It aims to give consumers enough choice to personalize spaces and make their rooms work smarter. The new pieces have clean-lined transitional styling and are made of solid hardwood and durable wood products.

At Klaussner, Len Burke, vice president of marketing, said sales continue to be strong in sofa-sleepers and also in sectionals and domestic upholstery. They also seeing a lot of interest in recliners with power motion and mentioned that buyers are looking for traditional comfort but modern design.

At AICO Furniture, casual traditional style is interpreted in a freestanding upholstery line, as well as in the Lavelle collection, with nods to French Country style. AICO, also offering leather and fabric combinations in upholstery. Sectionals continue to be strong, and some of the style interpretations include streamlined designs, oversized profiles and nail head or fringe embellishments.

Many vendors also report strong and increasing interest in smaller-scale furnishings. Singles, young professionals and smaller urban residential spaces are driving the category. Primary upholstery trends for the market are color-saturated leather and fabric, bright whites and mineral neutrals, power motion recliners with streamlined profiles, and made in America fabrics.

As for colors, orange continues to be a very popular color in home decor, especially in accessories. Blue-greens of all shades continue to be fashionable – from teal to turquoise, aqua to aquamarine – and everything in between.
